A blaze has overthrown
This dried up life of mine,
I sing not of the stone,
But of the tree this time.
It’s light and also coarse,
Both, from a single chunk -
The fisherman’s wood oars,
And oak tree’s living trunk.
Let sturdy pillars rise,
Sing, hammers, in the night,
Of wooden paradise,
Where everything is light.

Уничтожает пламень
Сухую жизнь мою,
И ныне я не камень,
А дерево пою.
Оно легко и грубо,
Из одного куска
И сердцевина дуба,
И весла рыбака.
Вбивайте крепче сваи,
Стучите, молотки,
О деревянном рае,
Где вещи так легки.
